“Carlos was a valuable member of the team, but sometimes life becomes more important than soccer and we have decided to do what’s best for the player and his family,” side Vice President and Technical Director Carlos Bocanegra in a club statement.
“Although, it was never the plan to move him on, we were able to reach an agreement and made the best out of a difficult situation.”
Carmona arrived in February of 2017 from Serie A side Atalanta. In his only season in Atlanta, the Chilean appeared in 32 games, scoring two goals.
