A man who authorities have called “a major drug supplier with far-reaching ties” has been sentenced to 10 years in prison after entering a guilty plea.

Nicholas Domino was arrested in a raid on his McHenry County home and storage units that resulted in the discovery of more than 250 pounds of marijuana, hundreds of pain pills, cocaine and MDMA with a street value of more than $700,000, authorities said.

Held in the County Jail since his 2015 arrest, Domino, 48, pleaded guilty Thursday to a single felony count of manufacturing and delivery of more than 5,000 grams of cannabis, according to prosecutors and court records. In exchange for his plea, several other serious charges were dismissed.

The raid on Domino’s home in a quiet Huntley neighborhood was the culmination of a lengthy investigation by the sheriff’s office, the Drug Enforcement Administration and state authorities, police said. His wife, Rocio Domino, and three other people also were arrested.

At the time of the raid, authorities said that Domino had been living a “luxury lifestyle,” and they seized five automobiles and several thousands of dollars in cash from him. Police said his drug business extended throughout northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin.

Domino’s wife, now 40, is awaiting trial on drug-related charges and has been freed on bond.

Related charges against Adam K. Domino were dismissed. Two others charged in the arrests have pleaded guilty and have been sentenced, according to authorities.
