DuPage coroner IDs 2 people who died in Addison fire last week

The DuPage County coroner’s office on Tuesday identified the couple who died in a fire last week in their home in Addison.

Janice Barnstable and Richard Sebring, both 76, who lived in the home in the 700 block of South Ellsworth Avenue, were identified as the two people who died in the Jan. 22 fire, but the coroner’s office could not release the cause of death, pending further investigation.

Addison Deputy Fire Chief Scott Walker said investigators are still working to determine the cause of the fire but do not believe it’s suspicious. He said officials think the fire started in the kitchen.

Barnstable and Sebring were both found in the bedroom after firefighters responded about 2:20 a.m., Walker said.
