The Chicago Symphony Orchestra has announced the conductors who will replace Charles Dutoit in two sets of subscription concerts this spring, following Dutoit’s recent withdrawal in the wake of sexual misconduct allegations.
French conductor Emmanuel Krivine will lead the concerts March 8-11 at Symphony Center. The program will remain as previously announced, except for the substitution of Berlioz’s “Royal Hunt and Storm” (from “Les Troyens”) for Kodaly’s “Hary Janos” Suite. Krivine already is scheduled to direct CSO concerts May 11-15.
German conductor and composer Matthias Pintscher has been engaged to lead the subscription program April 5-10. The all-French program will remain as scheduled, with pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet as soloist in the Ravel Piano Concerto for the Left Hand. Pintscher will be making his CSO podium debut.
