A 60-year-old Cary man has been charged with attempted murder for allegedly stabbing a relative in the chest and abdomen, authorities said.
Michael D. Eccles, of the 2400 block of Crystal Lake Road, also is charged with aggravated battery and aggravated domestic battery.
Eccles appeared in McHenry County courthouse Wednesday, and an assistant public defender was appointed to represent him.
Authorities said he stabbed the relative with a knife “multiple times in the chest and torso” on Saturday, according to the criminal complaint filed in McHenry County courthouse.
Prosecutors would not comment on the case.
Calls made to Cary police were not immediately returned.
