Authorities are asking for the public’s help in locating a suspect who attacked a woman in her home near West Chicago.
The victim was assaulted about 5 a.m. Monday in her home in an unincorporated area near Ethel Street and Hickory Lane, according to a news release from the DuPage County sheriff’s office.
Officials did not provide any details about whether the victim was injured in the attack. The assailant was described as a man, 30 to 40 years old, wearing denim pants. Police are asking anyone who may have seen someone driving around the neighborhood between 4 and 5:30 a.m. Monday to contact them. Residents are also being asked to check their yards for anything the man may have dropped when he ran from the area toward Center Avenue.
Police also urged residents with home security cameras to review their videos and report whether any suspicious activity was recorded.
