player ready...Saint-Eitenne have acquired French midfielder Yann M’Vila from Rubin Kazan, the club announced Friday.
M’Vila, 27, was recently released of his Rubin Kazan contract, and has signed a contract through 2019.
“I am very happy to come back to France and Ligue 1 with a manager Jean-Louis Gasset, whom I know particularly well. I hope to achieve beautiful things with ASSE,” said M’Vila in a statement released by the club.
“My objectives are simply to play as many games as possible, to have good performances, and to help the team have a nice second half of the season.”
M’Vila ends a four-and-a-half-year stint with the Russian side, which included loan stints at Inter and Sunderland. He started his career with Ligue 1 side Rennes before heading to Kazan.
