Four people, including two Chicago police officers, were hospitalized after a pin-in car crash Monday night on the South Side, authorities said.

The officers were pursuing a robber in a Hummer SUV when the vehicles collided around 8:30 p.m. in the 6700 block of South Marshfield Avenue in West Englewood, according to police and fire officials.

Two police officers and two other people were taken to local hospitals with injuries that were not believed to be life threatening.

The officers wounded in the crash had to be extricated by Chicago Fire Department personnel, Chicago police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said.

The officers were transported in serious condition, Guglielmi said. At least one offender was also taken to the hospital, he said.
