A 30-year-old McHenry woman died after suffering blunt trauma to her chest and extremities when her vehicle was hit by another Saturday morning, according to McHenry County Coroner Anne Majewski.

Latricia E. Fish was traveling east about 9:30 a.m. in the 9400 block of Illinois Highway 120 in Wonder Lake when another vehicle crossed over the centerline and struck her head-on, according to a news release issued by the coroner.

Woodstock, McHenry and Wonder Lake fire and rescue crews responded to the scene, where witnesses said the westbound vehicle was carrying a driver and passenger.

Fish had to be extricated from her vehicle and was transported to Centegra McHenry Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead at 1:24 p.m., according to authorities.

Both the driver and passenger of the other vehicle also were transported to Centegra McHenry Medical Center in “critical condition,” said Capt. Karen Bush of the Woodstock Fire and Rescue District. Their condition was unknown as of Monday afternoon, Majewski and Bush said.

The crash remains under investigation.

Bush said Saturday morning was clear and road conditions “appeared to be good.” Both vehicles sustained “heavy damage,” in what seemed to be a head-on collision.
