Chicago police are warning businesses in the River North and Near North neighborhoods about a string of burglaries in which computers and laptops were stolen, according to a community alert.

About ten burglaries were reported since mid November, police said. The burglars forced their way inside the business through a window or a door and took the property before fleeing, police said.

Most of the burglaries happened during the late evening to early morning hours. Several happened overnight or in the afternoon.

Police did not have a detailed description of the burglars.

The burglaries occurred at the following locations and times:

800 block of North Dearborn Street on Nov. 10

100 block of West Kinzie Street on Nov. 13

200 block of West Superior Street on Nov. 13

400 block of West Huron Street on Nov. 14

400 block of North Wells Street on Nov. 19

300 block of West Chicago Avenue on Nov. 20

200 block of West Huron Street on Nov. 30

400 block of North Franklin Street on Nov. 30

700 block of North LaSalle Drive from Dec. 22 to 26
