The FBI is looking for a man who tried to rob a bank inside an Old Town grocery store Thursday afternoon, one week after a different attempted bank robbery.
About 1:30 p.m., the man armed with a knife tried to rob a TCF Bank inside the Jewel-Osco store at 102 W. Division St., according to an FBI alert.
An update later confirmed the same man had attempted to rob a Bank of America on Nov. 2.
He was described as black, in his 50s, with a gray and black beard. In both attempts he wore a black knit hat, dark-colored pants and a dark-colored zip-up hoodie.
The incident was the second bank robbery the FBI responded to in Chicago on Thursday. A woman robbed a Chase Bank in Lakeview earlier.
