Charges have been filed against a 19-year-old Joliet man in the hit-and-run death of a Tinley Park woman who was struck on a frontage road last weekend in Bolingbrook, police said Thursday.

Eduardo Avila Jr. has been charged with failure to stop after having an accident involving personal injury or death, and failure to report an accident involving fatal injury or death, Bolingbrook Lt. Anthony Columbus said in a prepared statement.

Investigators recovered and searched a 2002 Honda Accord that Avila allegedly was driving between 11 p.m. Saturday and 1 a.m. Sunday when it struck Tricia Hoyt, 35, on Frontage Road near Lawton Lane. Her body was found shortly after noon Sunday in a grassy area off Frontage.

Authorities have issued an arrest warrant, with a bond of $500,000, for Avila and contacted his attorney “to facilitate the custody of Avila,” Columbus said.
