A woman is accused of attacking another woman with a hammer during a robbery in the Bridgeport neighborhood over the weekend, according to Chicago police.
Stephine Criner, 31, was arrested and charged with felony robbery while armed with a dangerous weapon after officers tracked her down with help from the victim, police said.
Officers responded to the robbery around 8 p.m. in the 2500 block of South Wentworth Avenue, police said. A woman, 44, told them Criner hit her in the head with a hammer and stole her belongings.
Criner fled south in a black sedan, police said. She was arrested about 9:20 p.m. in the 8000 block of South Maryland Avenue.

The victim’s property was recovered but she refused medical attention.
Criner was set to appear in court Monday.
