The Burr Ridge Village Board voted Monday to approve preliminary plans for a subdivision called Lakeside Pointe.

The development will consist of 44 detached cluster homes on 19.76 acres and will be located east of the Marriott, with entrances on Bridewell Avenue. Lakeside Pointe was previously under development with Weekly Homes, but portions of the proposed property were under covenants and set back requirements, which would not allow building, according to said Evan Walter, assistant to the village administrator.

The new community will be developed by McNaughton Development and will feature all master level suites and six or seven floor plans ranging in size from 2300 to 3300 square feet. The subdivision will feature both ranch and two story homes and will be semi-customizable, said developer Kelly McNaughton.

McNaughton said the development is still in the preliminary stages and but there should be three to four furnished models available by May 2018. She said the development will operate with a homeowners association, but they do not have assessment fees figured at this time. She also stated the homes will be in the style Burr Ridge residents expect.

“The property will not be labeled as a 55 and over subdivision, but will appeal to the empty nesters as well as those who want to downsize and are looking for a low maintenance property,” McNaughton said.

The developer is aiming for a December 2018 opening date. The planned community will offer ranch and two-story homes. McNaughton said the community would be similar to a subdivision the developer has done in Darien and which has both empty nesters and families in the community.
