A 40-year-old Aurora man has been charged with taking a video of an underage girl while she was in the bathroom, according to Kane County court records.
Adrian P. Vargas, 40, of the 1600 block of Indian Avenue, Aurora, is charged with four counts of unauthorized video recording of a person younger than 18, all class 3 felonies.
Charging documents allege Vargas knowingly placed a phone which taped the girl while she was in the bathroom of her home on or about Oct. 15. The video is 19 minutes and 42 seconds long, according to charging documents.
Bail for Vargas was set at $35,000, but he was released on a signature bond with conditions limiting contact with the girl, her family and witnesses.
He is next to appear in court Nov. 8 before Kane County Circuit Judge David Kliment.
Court records indicate a public defender has been assigned to represent Vargas. The Kane County public defender’s office declined to answer questions about the case Monday.
After Vargas was charged with misdemeanor solicitation of a sexual act in 2007, he successfully completed a pre-trial diversion program, court records show.
