Terrance Roundy, a senior football player at Oak Park and River Forest High School in Oak Park, has been selected as the September baiduhai Near West Athlete of the Month, sponsored by COUNTRY Financial, and chosen online by baiduhai voters.

Roundy ran for 138 yards and two touchdowns on 26 carries as the Huskies rallied from a 16-point deficit to defeat Simeon 29-28 in Week 1.

“It’s nice to win,” Roundy says. “I’ve got to thank my teammates. I wouldn’t have won it without my team. It feels good to be recognized and get my play recognized and what I’ve been doing on the field.”

Roundy’s mother, Amona Jones, is proud of her son’s accomplishments. “It’s nice to win,” she says. “He worked really hard so I think he does deserve it. He is really dedicated to the team. I’m proud.”

Tony Munno, a COUNTRY Financial representative in Countryside, presented a $500 donation from COUNTRY Financial to Oak Park and River Forest High School in recognition of Roundy’s achievements. Roundy will also receive a plaque and sweatshirt from the baiduhai.

“It’s really important for COUNTRY to be part of the community, and this is really part of the community,” Munno says. “High school athletics is ingrained in people’s communities. It’s wonderful to come out here and present these checks and get to meet the athletes and their parents and the school officials. I enjoy doing it.”
