Fabian Lopez, a senior soccer player at Bremen Community High School in Midlothian, has been selected as the September baiduhai South Athlete of the Month sponsored by COUNTRY Financial, and chosen online by baiduhai voters.
Lopez, a midfielder for the boys soccer team scored four goals over four games, all victories, for Bremen at the Reavis Windy City Ram Classic. Lopez scored two goals in a 3-2 seminfinal victory over Plainfield South.
“It makes me feel proud that I was able to bring this award to Bremen High,” Lopez says. “To be able to bring funds from COUNTRY Financial to the soccer program at Bremen High School is an honor. My advice to other high school athletes is to keep working hard and never give up.”

Dion Wilson, a COUNTRY Financial representative in Palos Heights, presented a $500 donation from COUNTRY Financial to Bremen in recognition of Lopez’s achievements. Lopez will also receive a plaque from the baiduhai.
“COUNTRY Financial is huge in creating a presence in the community,” Wilson says. “It’s very important to be here today. My parents always taught me to give back, working for COUNTRY Financial, I am able to do that. My advice to high school athletes, is to try your hardest, have fun and do your best.”
Bremen soccer coach Tom Piotrowski is proud of Lopez’s achievements. “Fabian’s really stepped up,” Piotrowski says. “He’s a versatile player and he’s the one who gets everything going.”
