A woman died Wednesday after being shot in Calumet City, authorities said.
Calumet City police on Thursday did not respond to a request for information, but according to the coroner’s office in Lake County, Ind., the victim, Seretse Robinson-Perry, 48, of Chicago Heights, was pronounced dead at 3:31 p.m. Wednesday at Franciscan Health Hospital in Hammond.
Robinson-Perry was shot near the intersection of Freeland Avenue and State Street in the south suburb, and the manner of her death was declared a homicide, according to the coroner’s office.
A spokesman for the Calumet City Fire Department told CBS-Ch. 2 that a man was also injured in the shooting, but his condition was unknown.

On Thursday, the Fire Department referred calls about the shooting to police.
