
While in Scoville Park on Oct. 1 during a family bike ride, Oak Parkers Jody Evenson, 49, and Tom Taylor, 46, answered a few questions for the Oak Leaves.
Q: What are you up to today?
JE: Enjoying the weather, and we wanted to check out the new Courageous Bakery and Cafe.
Q: How was it?
JE: It was great. They have gluten-free options, which I need. We were just excited after Red Hen closed that something similar was coming in its place.
Q: Any fall activities you look forward to as the weather cools?
JE: This, actually: riding bikes around the circle in the park. I’m here with my family; my husband, my 10-year-old son and his friend.

Q: What are you most enjoying about this stage of parenting?
JE: That he’s getting to be more independent. That he’s gotten to be more independent.
Q: Are you a baseball fan? Cubs or White Sox?
JE: Cubs, because of my family. And I lived on the north side for most of my adult life.
Q: How long have you lived in Oak Park?
JE: Five years. I love everything about it. The libraries are the best, this park, the schools are good. Mostly I love how great the people are.
Q: Local restaurants you frequent?
JE: Hole in the Wall.
TT: Al’s Grill.
Q: Somewhere you’ve traveled recently?
JE: We road trip to Connecticut where my husband’s family lives.
