Lauren Deutsch, longtime executive director of the non-profit Jazz Institute of Chicago, will be stepping down from that post.

Having headed the Jazz Institute since 1996, she will become director of artistic collaborations starting March 1, 2018, according to an announcement from the organization.

“We now have a strong team of seasoned professionals and young, talented and committed staff members who give me great optimism that the Jazz Institute of Chicago has attracted and continue to attract the next generation of devoted activists to carry the music and the mission of our organization forward,” wrote Deutsch in a statement.

The Jazz Institute has launched a search for a new executive director.
