
As they walked along Oak Park Avenue on Sept. 10 with a shopping bag in hand, Alicia Kreisman, 39, and her daughter, Stella, 7, of River Forest answered a few questions for the Oak Leaves.
Q: What brings you out today?
AK: Shopping. We got some birthday presents.
SK: It was my birthday party earlier, but I have one for another person.
AK: We went to Geppetto’s Toy Box. It’s a great toy store.
Q: Fall activity you’re looking forward to?
SK: Jumping in the pile of leaves! I like going apple picking.

AK: I just like the family kind of adventures out, like apple picking.
Q: Favorite local restaurant?
AK: We love New Rebozo. The summer fish tacos. We just tried the new place, Cooper’s Hawk; it was good, too.
Q: Charity of choice?
AK: Step Up. It’s a nonprofit that helps high school girls get into college.
Q: Any pets?
AK: Two dogs. They’re puggles: pug-beagle mixes. We rescued them both.
Q: What are their names?
SK: Rocky and Chloe. Rocky’s 14 and Chloe’s 12.
Q: Stella, I notice your missing teeth. Has the tooth fairy visited recently?
AK: Twice this week!
Q: Travel destination of choice?
AK: We love Mexico. We go to Mexico a lot. I’d like to go to Italy next year, now that the kids are growing older and getting out of naps.
