A 23-year-old Aurora man was stabbed late Thursday night at an East Side motel where he got a room with a woman he met on a social media app, according to police.

Officers responding to the motel on the 2300 block of North Farnsworth Avenue found the man with wounds to an arm and his back, according to a statement the police department released via Facebook. He was taken to an Aurora hospital for treatment of serious injuries that did not appear life-threatening, according to police.

The man apparently met a woman through an app called “Meet Me,” and the pair agreed to check into a room at the motel, police said.

“Once the two spent some time together, the female opened the door and two men walked in,” police said in the statement.

One of the men was on crutches, police said. Both attacked the Aurora man, stabbed him and took his phone, police stated. Then they and the woman left the room and drove away from the motel in a silver, older-model Pontiac Grand Am or Prix with a spare tire on the back, police said.

In the statement, police asked anyone with information to call the police department or submit a tip using the My PD app.
