A Streamwood man was injured Sept. 16 after a crash saw his vehicle hit a pump at an Aurora gas station.

According to police, Jerry Pearson, no age provided, was traveling south on Broadway and just passed Illinois Avenue when his vehicle was struck by a vehicle driven by Pedro Alfaro of West Chicago.

The force of the crash caused Pearson to lose control of his vehicle, which left the roadway and hit a gas pump at the nearby Citgo gas station.

Pearson was taken to an Aurora hospital with injuries. He was cited for driving on a suspended license, according to police.

Alfaro was charged with improper lane usage for striking Pearson’s vehicle while he was attempting to make a right turn into the gas station parking lot, police said.
