Atletico Madrid and Chelsea have reached an agreement for the transfer of striker Diego Costa, both clubs announced on Thursday.

The transfer agreement is pending an agreement on personal terms of the contract and medicals, the English club revealed in a statement. Costa will travel to Madrid to undergo medicals and finalize a contract with Atletico “in the upcoming days,” according to a statement by the Spanish club.

Costa was a member of Atletico from 2007 to 2014 before leaving for the London side, and has not featured in any matches this season across all competitions.
