The shooting death of an Chicago Heights teenager over the weekend has been ruled a homicide, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Tyrone Anthony, 17, was pronounced dead at around 2 p.m. Saturday following an incident that occurred near the intersection of 15th and Wallace streets, according to the Medical Examiner’s Office.
The autopsy, conducted Sunday, determined Anthony died of a gunshot wound to the chest.
A message left with the Chicago Heights Police Department seeking comment about the investigation was not immediately returned Sunday afternoon.
