Canadian forward Anthony Jackson-Hamel has signed a two-year contract extension with Monteal Impact, the team announced Thursday.

Jackson-Hamel’s new deal, which run through the 2019 MLS season, includes an option for the 2020 season.

“We are happy to have reached an agreement with Anthony to re-sign with us,” said Impact technical director Adam Braz.

“Anthony has continued to progress and improve in the last few years with the club, while showing he has the ability to play and score goals at the MLS level. We look forward to seeing him continue to grow with our club.”

The 24-year-old striker has been a part of Montreal’s roster his entire professional career, rising through the academy ranks before signing his first contract in August of 2014.

“I am very happy to continue my career with the Impact and to help the club reach its goals,” said Jackson-Hamel.

“I am also very happy to be a model for young players from Quebec. It is with great pride that I will continue to sweat in my city’s jersey.”

The Quebec native has totaled seven goals in 15 appearances, second-highest for Montreal, in addition to three assists in 2017. He has also earned seven caps for the Canadian national team, scoring two goals.
