Q: What did you do before becoming director of curriculum and instruction?
A: I was a teacher at LT. I taught English.
Q: Why did you want a curriculum job?
A: I was always fascinated with how things work. I was involved in some administrative projects and on some committees when I was a teacher. I was assistant English (department) chairman, then chairman and now (director of) curriculum. I hinged my way up the ladder.

Q: What do you enjoy about the start of the school year?
A: It’s great to see the kids. It’s really quiet over the summer.
Q: What do you enjoy about your current job?
A: I get to work with all the curricula and get to see that breadth and depth of what we offer at LT.
Q: What is your favorite book?
A: ‘Infinite Jest’ by David Foster Wallace. It’s set in the future where there’s a show that renders viewers unconscious. It’s a farce on our entertainment culture.
