An Aurora man has pleaded guilty to domestic battery for pushing a woman down late last year in a forest preserve parking lot, court records show.
In exchange for his plea, 34-year-old Jeremy Allred was sentenced by Kane County Judge D.J. Tegeler to 30 months of conditional charge — a less stringent form of probation — and to stay away from the female relative who suffered scrapes to her knees after the New Year’s Eve incident at the Les Arends Forest Preserve in Batavia.
Allred was also ordered to undergo an evaluation by Family Counseling Services in Aurora. Tegeler set a Sept. 28 hearing for an update on that meeting.
According to court documents, the parking lot incident followed an earlier situation in which Allred drove alongside the woman’s car on Route 31 and attempted to hit it several times. When police interviewed the woman in the forest preserve lot, Allred allegedly drove up and confronted an officer verbally, while also disobeying orders from the officer, court records show.
Charges of assaulting the officer and reckless driving were dropped as part of the plea agreement, records state.
