Amazon Inc. on Monday, celebrated its $13.7 billion purchase of the Whole Foods grocery chain by slashing prices for some of Whole Foods’ best-selling products.
The reductions were visible, but how much did they change the pricing landscape?
We visited a Whole Foods in Evanston and chose 15 of the reduced-price items to compare against other nearby grocery stores. For some items, the cheaper price does present a real savings against its competitors. For others, though, the change is less pronounced.
