Nine people were shot in Chicago over 17 hours Tuesday through early Wednesday, including a triple shooting during an armed robbery on the South Side, according to police.

The three were in the 7200 block of South May Street in Englewood around 10:10 p.m. when two men approached, one of them armed with a gun, police said. After the group handed over their belongings, shots were fired and all three were hit, police said.

A 38-year-old man was shot in the abdomen and an 18-year-old woman was shot in the right ankle. Their conditions were stabilized at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. A 33-year-old man was grazed in the right hand and he declined medical attention.

The shooting happened in front of a line of cottage-style homes. A woman hugged a man at the edge of the crime scene. Both declined to comment.

Other shootings

* In the Northwest Side’s Logan Square neighborhood, a 44-year-old man was shot about 4:20 a.m. Wednesday in the 1700 block of North Lawndale Avenue, just south of the Bloomingdale Trail. Someone in a green Honda opened fire, striking the man in the back. His condition was stabilized at Stroger Hospital.

* On the West Side, a 24-year-old woman was shot in the face, below the cheek, about 1:05 a.m. while outside in the 1300 block of North Spaulding Avenue in the Humboldt Park neighborhood, police said. She was shot by someone in a passing car and was taken in good condition to Presence Saints Mary and Elizabeth Medical Center.

* On the West Side about 8:45 p.m. Tuesday, a 24-year-old man was shot in the left thigh while stopped at a traffic light in the 1100 block of North Cicero Avenue in South Austin. Another car pulled up and someone inside shot at him. He went to Norwegian American Hospital, where his condition was stabilized.

* About 7:50 p.m. on the South Side, a 32-year-old man was shot in the left leg while a passenger in a minivan in the 9000 block of South Escanaba Avenue in the South Chicago neighborhood, police said. He went to Trinity Hospital, where his condition was stabilized. Police said the victim was “uncooperative” with investigators.

* On the South Side, a 33-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to the left shoulder about 6 p.m. in the 7200 block of South Winchester Avenue, according to police. The man was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where he was in good condition. He was in a vehicle when someone came out of a gangway and began shooting, hitting him, police said.

* On the South Side just before noon, a 26-year-old man was wounded in the leg in a drive-by shooting in Englewood, according to police. The man was walking in the 1100 block of West 56th Street about 11:30 a.m. when a black car drove by and someone inside opened fire, according to police. The man was shot in the right leg. He was taken to St. Bernard Hospital, where his condition was stabilized.
