Q: How do you describe what the store sells?
A: Quality fruits and vegetables.
Q: When was the store founded?
A: It was founded in 1929 in Western Springs. It started as a horse and buggy (delivery) back in the day. It’s been in this spot since 1938 and the current owner has owned it since 1979.
Q: What’s your best selling item?
A: Our most popular item is fruit salad or berries especially in the summer.
Q: What do you enjoy about working here?
A: We get a lot of repeat customers We get to know everybody by name. We have conversations about life. It’s not a big store where no one is going to recognize a person again.

A: ‘Braveheart’
Q: What are your hobbies?
A: My kids. I do a lot of kids’ activities. And fishing and camping.
Q: How many kids do you have?
A: Three. They are 4, 6 and 9 years old.

A: P.J.
Q: What is your next vacation?
A: I’ve got two upcoming. I am going to Texas and then on a cruise.
Q: What’s your favorite food?
A: Pizza. I eat it all. I am non-discriminating when it comes to pizza.

A: I can’t think of one. I am pretty easy going.
