More than 4,000 Commonwealth Edison customers were briefly left without power Wednesday evening on Chicago’s South Side, according to a company spokeswoman.
The affected ComEd customers in Oakland, Kenwood and Hyde Park neighborhoods along the Lake Shore Drive corridor were without power for about an hour and a half before service was restored, according to spokeswoman Ciera Oliver.
ComEd workers are still investigating the cause of the outages, she said.
The Chicago Fire Department responded to high-rise apartments in the area, but no one was stuck on elevators during the outage, a tweet from the department said.
