New Trier graduate Jeannie Boehm was selected for the U.S. basketball team that will compete in the FIBA U19 World Cup for Women from July 22-30 in Cividale del Friuli and Udine, Italy. The U.S. is the six-time defending champion.
Boehm, a sophomore-to-be at Harvard, was one of 12 players selected for the team after four days of trials in Colorado Springs, Colo., in May.
The Winnetka native also was a member of the U.S. U18 women’s national team last summer that won a gold medal at the FIBA Americas tournament in Chile.
Boehm averaged 7.2 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.4 blocks per game as a freshman during the 2016-17 season. She started all 30 of Harvard’s games.
