Just back from New York, where the locals didn’t take kindly to Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s railing on the Big Apple’s troubled mass transit.
Emanuel boasted in a New York Times op-ed last week that Chicago trains “actually run on time” and that 85 percent of passengers are satisfied with Chicago’s transit system.
New Yorkers threw some numbers back in our mayor’s face.
The guide of our Circle Line sightseeing cruise, who perhaps did not get a Ph.D. in mathematics, announced: “Crime is down 1,000 percent since I moved here in 1985. No exaggeration. Let’s see Rahm do that.”
Made me ponder: Which city has it better in sports?
