Aurora police are asking the public for help as they investigate the Friday night shooting of an SUV on the city’s East Side.
No one was inside a small Chevy SUV when it was shot at about 9:30 p.m. Friday on the 1100 block of Bonner Avenue, police spokesman Dan Ferrelli said in an email.
Parked on the street, the SUV was the only thing hit in the drive-by shooting, according to a statement police issued on Facebook. Police said the suspect fired several shots from inside a silver Chevy Cruze with black rims while the eastbound car passed by a residence on the block.
After the shooting, the car kept driving east on Bonner Avenue, according to the statement.
Police are asking anyone with information to call investigators at 630-256-5500 or Crime Stoppers at 630-892-1000. People can also submit tips through the My PD app.
