A Lake in the Hills woman charged multiple times with drunken driving in northern Kane County almost four years ago will learn her prison sentence in September after she recently pleaded guilty to aggravated DUI, court records show.
Tiara Norris, 24, has five DUI arrests since 2010, according to prosecutors, with three occurring over a 19-day span in July 2013. Set for a June 8 bench trial on allegations she drove near Elgin with a blood alcohol content level nearly twice the state’s legal limit of .08, Norris opted to take a guilty plea. She is now scheduled for a Sept. 1 sentencing hearing before Judge David Kliment, according to court documents.
The first of Norris’ local DUI arrests occurred on July 10, 2013, in Gilberts, where an officer stopped Norris for driving 65 mph in a 50-mph zone without a valid driver’s license. A breath test showed her to have a blood alcohol content of .320 — four times the legal limit. Less than two weeks later, Norris was stopped in her 2008 Volkswagen by Gilberts police after it was spotted in a ditch off Tyrrell Road. She refused testing and was held in Kane County Jail until a friend posted bond on July 29.
That same day, Norris picked up the DUI in the arrest near Elgin to which she pleaded guilty.

McHenry County records indicate Norris was convicted of driving under the influence of drugs in connection to an August 2012 stop in Lake in the Hills. Kane County prosecutors reference in charging documents a 2010 DUI arrest, when Norris was 17 years old, but did not include details.
