Soaking wood, letting meat come to room temperature, making beer-can chicken — these are just a few grilling topics that barbecue expert Meathead, founder of AmazingRibs.com, hopes to disabuse during a lecture at Kendall College. 3) Cycle for those cocktails

Father’s Day brings a gift for cyclists who like to have a little fun: a cycling-and-cocktails hang organized by Heritage Bikes and Soho House’s Fox Bar. Participants will meet in Uptown at Larry’s bar for coffee or a mimosa, then bike the 8.5 miles to Fox Bar in the West Loop, where bartenders will be pouring coffee cocktails. (Plan ahead for a noncycling, safe ride home if you intend to indulge.) Heritage will display and sell its American-made bikes inside Fox Bar, while tattoo artist friends of the staff will engrave custom designs onto Brooks leather saddles.
