On May 26, 110 students from Lake Forest Academy graduated in the formal gardens on campus.
Darrin Madeley, director of athletics, gave the commencement address. Joe Alexander, senior class president, also spoke.
Of the graduates, 106 will be going to college this year, LFA spokeswoman Grace Kim said. Those colleges are located in 26 different states or countries including Canada, China, Hong Kong, Scotland and England, Kim said.
“They were a very talented group that let their interests guide their college search,” said Andrew Poska, dean of college counseling. “We had more students apply and enroll in schools outside the U.S. than ever before.”
About 25 percent of graduates earned scholarships, Poska said.
Four graduates have been accepted at colleges but will take a year off to play in junior hockey leagues, Kim said. Seventeen graduates will play college hockey at the Division One and Division Three levels, Kim said.
