President Obama’s regular Spotify playlists were one of the many reasons some view him as the coolest president to date. The Obama Foundation will continue the musical tradition: It has released a new Chicago-centric playlist guest-curated by Chance the Rapper, Mavis Staples and Jennifer Hudson. “Chicago” by Frank Sinatra, “Homecoming” by Kanye West and “Sweet Home Chicago” by Robert Johnson are some of the many Chi-city themed tunes on the mix.

Dana Cree, Chicago’s own two-time James Beard pastry chef finalist, has released her ice cream recipe book, “Hello My Name Is Ice Cream.” The book includes both 100 recipes for ice cream flavors and mix-ins and the science behind the recipes. Cree joined the Publican brand team as executive pastry chef in May and previously worked as executive pastry chef at Blackbird and Avec. Bring on the brain freeze.
