A week after his bail was reduced by more than half, Howard S. Flint remains held in Kane County Jail on allegations he sexually assaulted his girlfriend while armed with a knife earlier this year.

Flint, 54, of Geneva, faces a seven-count indictment charging him with aggravated criminal sexual assault, sexual assault, intimidation, aggravated unlawful restraint, aggravated assault and domestic battery in connection to the Feb. 2 incident inside the Westhaven Circle home he shared with the woman. Flint used a knife with a 6-inch blade to threaten the woman while preventing her from leaving a bedroom where the assault occurred, according to authorities and charging documents. The woman received medical treatment following the incident.

A judge on May 3 agreed to lower Flint’s bail to $150,000 from the original amount of $500,000, which was set at the time of his arrest. If Flint is able to post bond, he would be placed on the highest level of GPS monitoring, be barred from any contact with the woman and be required to wear an alcohol-monitoring device, documents show.

Flint is scheduled to return to court June 14 for arraignment.
