Mayor Robert T.E. Lansing and four aldermen – two of them new – were sworn in on May 1.
“I go forward to do my best,” Lansing said after he took over the meeting from outgoing Mayor Donald Schoenheider. Sworn in as aldermen were newcomers Melanie Rummel and James “Jed” Morris, along with Raymond Buschmann – who took over for Michael Adelman in January – and returning alderman Jack Reisenberg.
Lansing’s first order of business was to appoint Ald. Buschmann as the council liaison to the nonprofit Lake Forest Open Lands.
Lansing announced he would chair the city’s Personnel Compensation Administration Committee and also appointed aldermen to chair three standing committees. Morris will take over as chair of the Finance Committee, Ald. Stanford Tack will take over as chair of the Public Works Committee and Reisenberg will return as chair of the Property and Public Land Committee.
