Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Quick! Think of something interesting to say at dinner Friday night. If nothing’s coming to you, here are your conversation starters for the weekend.

The digit: 100

Who are the most influential people in the world? Time magazine has a list. They’ve picked the 100 artists, activists, entrepreneurs and leaders making a difference. From John Legend to Ivanka Trump, Viola Davis to Ed Sheeran, Elizabeth Warren to Chance the Rapper, the list clearly isn’t drawing from just one category of influencers.

Crowded party

You may be used to two or three featured artists making an appearance on an album, but try 24. That’s how many contributed to British virtual band Gorlliaz’s upcoming album, “Humanz.” The album, released this weekend, features Vince Staples, De La Soul and Pusha T, along with many other artists. “Rogue One” actor Ben Mendelsohn will narrate the album’s interludes, but if the “Star Wars” connection doesn’t hook you, a portion of the album was recorded in our sweet home Chicago.

From big screen to small

Season 1 of “Dear White People,” the follow-up TV series to the 2014 film by the same name, drops on Netflix April 28. The comedy will follow college students as they address social injustice, political correctness and activism in the modern age. Critics of the show have described the premise “racist against white people,” which others are calling out for irony.

Every move you make …

Emma Watson and Tom Hanks star in “The Circle,” a thriller set in the not too distant future, where Watson’s character is hired by the world’s largest and most powerful tech and social media company. The film addresses issues of privacy, ethics and personal freedom and hits theaters this weekend. Considering everything from your TV to your headphones may be spying on you these days, try not to come out of the movie too paranoid.
