Spring flowers aren’t the only things beautifying the New York Botanical Garden: The 250-acre landscape is hosting a new exhibit of Dale Chihuly’s glass sculptures.
“Chihuly” marks the Seattle-based artist’s first major garden exhibition in New York in more than a decade. The show debuted in late April and will stick around through Oct. 29.

Roughly 20 of Chihuly’s installations are peppered around the Bronx site (www.nybg.org), which has a slew of special programs pegged to the exhibit, like glass-fire-working demonstrations Aug. 12-13 and Chihuly Nights, when the colorful sculptures are illuminated.
Regular adult admission to the botanical garden, which includes the Chihuly exhibit, starts at $20 for adults; some events — such as Chihuly Nights — cost extra.
The garden is 20 minutes from Grand Central Terminal in midtown Manhattan. The iconic train station is attached to Grand Hyatt New York hotel, which is offering a Chihuly package. The deal includes a pair of admission tickets, a 10 percent discount on published hotel room rates and round-trip tickets for two between the garden and Grand Central on Metro-North Railroad. Reservations can be made by clicking “offers” at www.newyork.grand.hyatt.com.
Metro-North also has a package that bundles round-trip train fare between the garden and Grand Central with garden admission for $36.50.
