A former Naperville firefighter from Elgin has denied allegations he possessed child pornography last year, according to court records.

Louis Digrazia IV, 47, pleaded not guilty April 19 to a 10-count indictment accusing him of having pornographic images involving pre-teen females on a computer located at his home. Digrazia remains free on $200,000 bail with a June 14 hearing scheduled by Judge John Barsanti. The judge modified Digrazia’s bond restrictions to allow him online access for work during business hours.

Digrazia’s 21-year career as a firefighter in Naperville ended in December in light of his arrest, city officials said earlier this year. He had been placed on unpaid administrative leave after charges were filed by Kane County prosecutors.

Elgin police arrested Digrazia in October after finding pornographic images on a computer during a search of his home, according to court records. A search warrant affidavit filed in connection to the case indicated investigators confiscated a laptop from Digrazia as he returned home from work and located “numerous” files and pictures “depicting child pornography.”

Police learned Digrazia took the laptop to and from his job, the affidavit states, adding that Digrazia’s locker — containing five flash drives — at a Naperville fire station was secured by police around the same time. The court documents do not indicate what, if anything, was on the drives which were the subject of the search warrant.
