Family Dental Care attributes its growth and the honor of the Neighbors’ Choice Award to its “great patients.”
Third-time winner of the Post-Tribune’s Neighbors’ Choice Award, Dr. Chanbo Sim of Family Dental Care in Merrillville, attributes both the honor and the growth of his practice to his supportive patients and amazing team through the years.
“I want to thank our patients who have supported and entrusted their dental health to us for 25 years. It is all because of them that our practice has been so successful,” Sim says.
Sim says he knew that many of his patients spoke highly of him and his team, but had no idea he was being nominated for the award again. He feels deeply honored and humbled by this recognition.
Sim says his general dentistry practice has steadily grown since he opened the doors 25 years ago at 6075 Cleveland Circle, Merrillville. In addition to general dentistry for both adults and children, his full-service practice specializes in non-extraction orthodontics, dental implants and cosmetic dentistry including teeth whitening.
Sim was raised in Michigan City, Indiana, and attended Indiana University and graduated from Indiana University School of Dentistry in 1991. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Indiana Dental Association, Chicago Dental Society and the Northwest Indiana Dental Society.
Sim has been married to his wonderful wife, Hyunah, for 20 years. They have three beautiful children, Sophia, Sarah and Alex. When Sim is not practicing dentistry, he enjoys spending quality time with his family and running. He is an active member of the Calumet Striders Running Club, having competed in 34 marathons including New York, Los Angeles, Boston, Miami, Las Vegas and Disney World. He will be running his 16th consecutive Chicago Marathon this October.
“I’m always concerned with staying healthy and active. I love to promote good health and running for all my patients,” he says.
