Police: Gary man shot to death at his home

Gary police are investigating the shooting death of a man who was killed Wednesday at his residence, authorities said.

Gary police spokeswoman Lt. Dawn Westerfield said in a news release that officers responded to a call at 11:35 a.m. in the 1700 block of E. 7th Avenue.

They found Stacy W. Hodge, 30, unresponsive; the Lake County Coroner’s Office declared him dead at the scene.

Hodge died from gunshot wound, according to a later coroner release.

Westerfield said there was no other information available.
