Q: What is your educational background?
A: I have a bachelor of science at Rutgers University and a master’s degree in education at National Louis University.
Q: How did you decide to become a teacher?
Q: I was tutoring at Rutgers. I was having way more fun than I was having in the engineering lab. I thought I’d have more of an impact as a teacher.
Q: What do you like about teaching?
A: I like taking difficult concepts and breaking them down into manageable chunks. My vision is to make sure it’s attainable to everyone.
Q: What is a misconception about physics?
A: Students can attain the physics and they don’t have to fear the math. I love turning around students hearts and minds about that.
Q: Are you married?
A: Yes. My husband’s name is Jim and we have two children. A 13-year-old and an 11-year-old.
Q: What do you enjoy about working at Lyons Township High School?
A: I love LT. That’s why we moved into this district. There is so much talent and so many opportunities. I love it so much. I love that we have two campuses. One for freshmen and sophomores, one for juniors and seniors. It gives people a fresh start when they go to a new campus.
Q: What’s your favorite movie?
A: “The Usual Suspects.” That’s the first one that popped in my head.
Q: What’s your favorite book?
A: “The Magic Strings of Frankie Presto” by Mitch Albom.
Q: What are your hobbies?
A: Traveling and hanging out with friends and family. We’re in the process of getting certified in scuba. We’re going to Key Largo for our check out dives.
Q: What’s your favorite food?
A: I love rice and beans
Q: If you could have a super power, what would it be?
A: I think I already have it. I’m a teacher.
