A pedestrian was struck and injured in a hit-and-run crash in Aurora.
The crash occurred at 5:33 a.m. Wednesday near Spring Street and North Lincoln Avenue, Aurora police said.
According to police, a witness to the incident spotted a dark colored SUV, possibly an Isuzu Rodeo, stopped in the roadway on Spring Street, just west of Lincoln Avenue. When the witness drove up, the SUV took off eastbound on Spring Street. It was then that the witness noticed a woman, Maria Quiroz-Garcia, 54, of West Chicago, lying in the roadway, police said.

Police said Quiroz-Garcia was crossing Spring Street, approximately 50 feet west of the crosswalk, and was wearing dark clothing when she was struck.
She was taken to a hospital for treatment.
