2) Try some seriously good ice cream

Ice cream wizard and Publican restaurant group pastry chef Dana Cree visits Lincoln Park’s Read It & Eat bookstore to sign her new book, “Hello, My Name Is Ice Cream: The Art and Science of the Scoop.” She’ll also demo two of her icy creations: salted creme fraiche caramel and Meyer lemon frozen yogurt — with samples, of course. Tickets $10; book available for purchase. 2-4 p.m. Sunday at 2142 N. Halsted St., 773-661-6158, www.readitandeatstore.com.

You’ve had beer, wine and cider, but have you had mead? Get to know the golden liquid, made from honey, with a visit to Wild Blossom Meadery and Winery’s new tasting room. Learn about the history of mead and how it’s made, plus taste fruit and floral varieties. The facility, which raises its own bees and collects their honey, offers tours Fridays and Saturdays, and sells its locally made wine and mead in the on-location shop. $20 includes tour and tasting. 5:30 p.m. Fridays, 1:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Saturdays at 9030 S. Hermitage Ave., 773-233-7579, www.wildblossommeadery.com.

4) Watch a food film at The Music Box

Learn about the vibrant diversity of Israeli culture through food. The Music Box Theatre premieres “In Search of Israeli Cuisine,” featuring James Beard-winning chef Michael Solomonov exploring more than 100 cultures influencing Israeli food — Jewish, Arab, Muslim, Christian and so many more. Profiling chefs, home cooks and others, the film fills in the tapestry that is the rich, multicultural cuisine. From $11. Showtimes vary; check website for details. 3733 N. Southport Ave., 773-871-6604, www.musicboxtheatre.com.
