U.S. Rep. Danny Davis’ son, Stacey Wilson, whose own child died last year in a shooting that began over clothes and shoes, has died.
Wilson was 47 and is survived by two children, according to a statement from Davis’ office. He worked for the Cook County circuit court clerk.
His third child, Javon Wilson, 15, was killed in November in a case that attracted national attention. A 16-year-old boy and a 17-year-old girl have been charged with murder in the shooting death of Javon. Investigators initially believed the attack began as a home invasion but revised that once they learned the teens had a history with each other.
Stacey Wilson had been “complaining of high blood pressure,” the statement said, though the cause of death is not known. Wilson was pronounced dead at home Thursday night, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
Results of the autopsy are pending.
